Can I sit with
The thought of you
Runnin in circles through my mental
Paintin on the walls of my mind
Your name so as not to forget.
As if one could forget
And yet
You still hang portraits of,
Deeper than shallow water
Melodies that is you in my space
Placing beginnings of,
The very makings,
In my face,
Even though your lyrics are not really visible
Except within the eye of my mind.
The decor of my safe haven has changed somewhat
And it's all bc of you,
Takin pictures of what could be,
Sendin them to me with a note telling me
These photos needed no editing,
Its just rawness...
The truth that is you and that which is me...
I just combined the two...
Combined the two...
Combined the two in black and white
To form the grey that could be we...
Something so beautiful,
stripped of color,
Blurring the background of the past
To bring focus to the future
This is the center piece,
The conversational theme that
Hangs over the fire place mantle w no frame
Don't want to put restrictions on the bigger picture,
Its simply better that way
Simply...
Better...
As I sit with curtains drawn
In the home that is my head,
You're still leavin your mark
In my notebook of poetry
I bleed black on a blank sheet,
Startin fresh, focused on the picture that could be
You and me,
Open to the possibilities
Of us just being
Contemplation oozing
Heart salivating
Soul drippin with the intensity that thought creates.
I pen a poem to the tune of you
Placing my signature on the limerick
Created for the photo of us
Written to you
I have Spoken Word...
Reciting the world of us together
To an audience truly unknowin
But still enjoyin
The phrases I put to many pages
To explain that which hangs in the balance...
Just like those portraits on my walls
Audience snaps cuz they're feelin it
As the band conts to play you,
And I smile cuz I've written it,
And my ink leaks at the sheer thought of we two
A collaborative piece,
With me as the lead,
Costarring you.

The LoverWhile I'm afraid of love and all that she has to offer, for she is not always so sweet, I still enjoy the possibilities and the actual act of. Love is definitely an eye opening, life changing sufferage that needs to be had at least once in life. Love, no matter how it turns out, makes us better as people and wiser individuals. Archives
